Elizabeth,

We are doing histopathological studies on the effects of DDT and DDE on
our marine tissues here at the EPA lab. I was curious as to what studies
you are doing with DDE and DDT?

We take subsample alliquots at necropsy and freeze them for the DDT
and DDE extractions to do our chemical analysis and organic analysis. I
could ask the chem dept. here if anyone HAS done a protocol for DDE or
DDT on formalin fixed tissues. I would expect that the formalin chemistry
nature might make it tricky?? But these guys here routinely do some
analyses in seawater brines, so who knows?!
