I am a doctoral condidate beginning a disseration project involving thin
2-3u serial sectionaing and immunostaining of the mouse brain. I plan to
use formalin (10% NBF) as my primary fixative (via perfusion), but I have
read reports which suggest that using a zinc salt with (or even instead of
formalin improves results. Has anyone tried a zinc solution before
formalin perfusion? If not, why not? If so, what were the results?
