EM Science expires their Bouins at 24 months. After a bottle is open, it is up
to end-users to determine actual expiration based on decomposition,
environmental factors, and application.
In April's edition of Laboratory Medicine, I answered a Q&A question referring
to expiration of bulk chemicals which could apply to reagents also. If you do
not have that edition, I would be happy to send you a copy. I think you will
find it helpful.

Subject: Bouin's solution
Hi Histonetters,
Does anyone know if there is an expiry date for Bouin's solution?
I am not aware of this solution reaching an end-point when it should be
discarded.
Thanks for any comments.
