GMA is water soluble, and it is common practice to dehydrate up through
absolute alcohol (some only go to 95%), xylene is not necessary. In fact
I have never used a clearant for GMA.

GMA can also be used with graded mixtures of monomer and water, have
a protocol for this when doing lipids. More expensive to do, but retains
the lipids by eliminating the alcohols.

The Polysciences brochure on GMA kits (at least the old one from years ago)
only went up through the higher alcohols.
