Lead and copper in tissues may be demonstrated with fresh alkaline
hematoxylin -
Mallory and Parker's. Lead will stain a dark grey-blue, copper will stain
blue.
The colors described are for unripened hematoxylin, and since the ripening
may
take place in minutes, it is essential that the solution used is prepared
immediately
before use.
