Hi Histonetters,
One of the researchers, with whom I work, has fixed a large group of
mouse hearts in Histochoice fixative. His reason for using histochoice is
that he wants to do mRNA, and immunohistochemical staining. However, after
staining the slides we noticed that the mouse cardiac muscle fibers looked
separated and partially blown apart; and the antibody staining was varied.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with histochoice and/or has
seen separation of cardiac muscle fibers. I also need to recommend an
alternative fixative both good for mRNA and immunohistochemistry and
producing no separation of muscle fibers-- I initially recommended Carnoys
fixative. I would appreciate any other recommendations from my learned
comarades...

									Thanks,
									Frank
