We have prefilled containers of formalin for the smaller specimens in
Surgery.  For larger specimens, there are a gallon jugs of 10% formalin
available and they are used under a hood.  Our birthing center sends the
fresh placenta to us and Histology personnel (or laboratory personnel
after hours) adds the formalin.
