We have not completely ruled out the water change but we now have purchased stain(instead of making our own) and the stain is good.  It would really be helpful to get feedback on who has the entire staining set up under a hood in comparison to only the xylene under the hood.  We also have had the problem of a Labconco hood that we purchased that is supposed to move the height to adjust to different size people using it.  It's a great concept but Labconco did not supply the ventilation tubing to make it moveable, thus we are stuck with an expensive hood that doesn't move.  Any ideas????  Thanks for your help.B.
