Andrea,

The dye that you have - CI # 35780 is Sirius red F3B (CI Direct red 80),
this is the correct dye for collagen staining.
I would suggest that you use this, just because 'they' tried the stain and
it didn't work doesn't mean it doesn't!

I suspect that you will be unable to find the mythical CI 35782.
