We were sited at out CAP inspection for not having documentation ofpathologist evaluation for non-pathologists performing gross. We haveHistotech's submit biopsy specimens that can be submitted in their entirety,but do not have a PA that actually does gross. I had not really thought ofsubmitting the biopsies as actual gross and had assumed that ANP.11640pertained to someone acutally dissecting tissue. How do you all do this? Just have the pathologist sign a form? They observethe work daily, of course. There is only an aggregate measurment given to beinserted into a templete for dictation.
