mounting with glycerol

From:Susan Travers

We have always used xylene miscible mountants like permount and
cytoseal, but now need to use a water based mountant. Glycerol
actually works best for our purpose. However, we are getting small
air bubbles. Is there any trick to cure this. I though that slightly
heating the coverslips might work.

Also, if the coverslips are sealed with nail polish, would it be safe
to store them upright in a slide box.

thanks for any comments
