If you use a saline wash, use a balanced electrolyte solution (e.g.,
Tis-u-sol, Normosol, PlasmaLyte).  Don't use normal saline, it will rapidly
destroy cells if they have not first been preserved or fixed.

I have a highly cellular CSF which also has more proteinaceous gunk than I
have ever seen .  This gunk is completely screwing up the immuno by turning
everything brown.  Any ideas on how to cure this?  We are thinking of trying
a saline wash before centrifugation.  all ideas are welcome.
