Thanks to all who responded.

We had 4ml of CSF so we tried everything.  Mostly anything that helped also
damaged the immuno picture to an unacceptable degree.  In the end there was
just too much protein.  

I forgot to photograph the fluid. Which is a pity because  it would have
made a real stinker of a quiz question.
