softening tissues

From:Kristel Wautier

Hi again,

with respect to my earlier question on ways to soften tissues hardened due to fixation and storage in alcohol, someone ask if I've tried Aerosol OT. Does anybody have some more info on this product (suppliers, pro and con's).
I've done a little surch on the net, and I've found the following protocol (using Aerosol OT) for softening plant tissues: Pohl's softening agent (1.6 ml 75% aquous Aerosol OT; 73,4 ml aq. dest.; 25 ml 25% methyl alcohol). Does anybody have experience with this agent? Would it work for fish tissues as well?

Thanks.
