RE: A dye by any name would stain as red?

From:"Johnston, Kathy"

Our Neuro lab is using Solvent Blue 38 from Sigma, Cat# S-3382 for their LFB
stain. Have been for a long time now, and they work beautifully. Hope this
can help your predicament!

Dear Bruce,
I sort of understand your predicament but it is with
Luxol Fast Blue.
LFB-PAS is not gonna happen with this stuff...LFB
(same C.A.S. as the old stuff, but WAY more purple;
ordered from A*** As*** as that was the most readily
available ...disappears during lithium carbonate
differentiation...)
with the collaberation of colleagues we have surmised
that you can't get (the right) LFB anymore...it is
worth more than gold around here...no one can get the
"good stuff"...
Thoughts,
Rebecca
