new collagen vs. old collagen

Does anyone know of a stain that differentiates between young and mature collagen in animal tissue? I have a modified Van Gieson that is suppose to differentiate between the two, but it has not proven satisfactory. I sure would appreciate your help, my searches have come up with little to work with. Thanks so much.
