Suffered from the same thing you are experiencing, gritted our teeth,
bought the Cryojane and never looked back!  Your TC knife needs to be very
sharp, even with tape transfer, so one knife in the lab needs a backup
while the other is being sharpened/reconditioned. We are planning to use
our Shandon knife sharpener to do this.  Knife can only be resharpened so
many times before reconditioning.

The amount of time you spend struggling for one good section is too
precious, and time is money when they pay your salary, etc, etc.  Invest in
the Cryojane and be happier.  I suppose with lots of (heavy sigh!) practice
you could get sections, but that never happened here and I could never get
anything else done, was very inefficient with lousy results.
