Re: TriPath Autocyte machine users

Well.
if I didn't see it with my own eyes, I would have never believed it. We ran
side-by-side samples, four on positve -charged slides and four on freshly
treated poly-l-lysine slides. The staining and quality on the
positive-charged slides were poor. Staining was uneven and cells floated
off. The reason why is beleived to be in the manufacturing of the
positive-charged slides. With the poly-l-lysine treated slides, the slides
are dipped in the solution, then stood on end to air dry. It is recommended
that you only prepare the number of slides you need for that run. It seems
dust and other debris reek havoc when using the Autocyte stainer.
My question is this, "are we supposed to be moving forward in
technology?" I stopped using poly-l lysine treated slides years ago. I'm
getting confused.
