Re: Daily Digest

Hello Elizabeth,
In our lab we perform RNA isolation on a wide variety of tissues. We
have been using a chemical called RNAlater from Ambion, an RNA
specialist company (www.ambion.com, search for RNAlater, and you will
find a downloadable pdf protocol). RNAlater can be used at room
temperature, completely inactivates RNases, providing stability to RNAs
in your tissues, and is nontoxic. The great thing is that it is
compatible with TRIzol RNA isolation reagent (Life Technologies) which
we use for RNA isolation. I highly recommend it.
