We break one or two coverglass a week. Just about the same as when we did it
by hand. No big whoop.

We don't have a problem with waves, we just make sure that enough xylene
comes off onto the slides to adhere the tape and we have no problem.  Do you
have a problem with the glass coverslips breaking either before or during
coverslipping?
