Dear Histonetters,

We have a position open for Technical Specialist in the Histology lab at Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville Florida.  The technical specialist would oversee the technical operation of the histology lab and assist the manager when needed.  Also they would perform analytical  procedures when required.  We are looking for someone with 5 years experience in histology with some supervisory experience preferably.  

Gainesville is located in central Florida.  The area has beautiful fresh water springs and beautiful rivers and lakes.  Also it is only an hour and half from the west coast and 2 and a half hour drive from the east coast so beaches on either side are readily accessible.

We have a good group here of techs that are fun to work with and are well skilled.  We have a wide variety of specimens including many transplant cases in which  we provide a number of special services.  The pathologists being a part of the University of Florida often have interesting cases and research projects in which our lab provides support.
