HISTOTECHNOLOGIST

There is a regular, full-time position as a Histotechnologist in Biological Imaging, a Shared Scientific Service. Duties include routine histological techniques such as paraffin processing, sectioning, solution preparation, staining and routine lab maintenance. Candidates with proficiency in specialized techniques such as cryotomy, immunohistochemistry, serial sectioning, plastic sectioning, heavy metal and other special staining will be given preference. A Bachelor's degree in a biological field as well as at least five years experience in histological techniques is preferred. As the position requires that the individual provide support service for numerous research projects, the individual must interact well with staff members. The individual must also be able to work well in a team environment. The position will be filled at the Biomedical Technologist II or III level, depending on experience and qualifications.
