When you switch to disposable blades, vendors can and will supply you with
samples to try.  This may be a matter of preference per laboratory, so
contact them and enjoy using disposable blades in the cryostat.  Haven't'
used a c profile steel knife (we do have a Shandon knifesharpener!) for
cryomicrotomy for years, and never looked back. Check out suppliers also,
Fisher, VWR - who also give institutional discounts - I know you can get
Accuedge (Sakura Finetek-Tissue Tek) from VWR, Leica blades also.
