Re: Movat's pentachrome stain of methyl methacrylate sections

From:Connie McManus

Saffron du Gatinais (CI 75100) -- also known as saffron, or natural yellow
6 --- can be purchased through Cell Point 9210 Corporate Blvd, Rockville
MD 20850 phone 800 999-9734. My procedure for Movats calls for Brilliant
Crocein, not the R version you mentioned. Anyway.. synonyms for Brilliant
Crocein are: Brilliant Crocein MOO, Brilliant Crocein Scarlet MOO,
Scarlet MOO, Woodstain Scarlet and Blackly Scarlet (CI 27290). I don't
know where this dye can be purchased. I can't seem to find it under any of
these names in the Cell Pointe catalogue, but perhapes Sigma or Aldrich
carries them. Often Polysciences carries some of these less used dyes, too.

Good Luck!
