When I was doing a lot of cartilage sections I would first try white Elmers
glue in my floatation bath. It really, really works. Most of my cartilage
had some bone on it, which makes things a little easier. For cryo sections
I used silanized slides activated with glutaraldehyde. You always lose a
few no matter what you do due to the charge on the cartilage.
