My understanding is that mitochondria needs a prompt fixation in chromium salts
to be preserved well enough to be demonstrated. Your material does not sound
promising. Anilin-fuchsin stain is prepared by adding 20 g acid fuchsin in 100
ml of 5% anilin oil in distilled water (modified Altmann method).
