<x-tab> </x-tab>Stoat
on the lug. Scots for a well directed blow with the open hand on the
ear, usually to an errant child. Many's the time my mother would appear
quietly behind me and deliver such a blow when, in her opinion, I had
breached some unwritten law that only mothers knew about. Usually
followed by, "there, let that be a lesson to you." It was
always quickly forgotten and you became the apple of her eye again.
Hi Ian, I have no problem with what you gave me, I am not above
(nor
below!) finding it via ISBN #. Thanks and what does stoat round the
lug
mean, a bonk on the head, or kick in the knee?? Loved this
one!!
