mouse eyes

From:Robert Geske <RGeske@lexgen.com>

Good Afternoon,

does someone have a reference or a protocol they would care to share for the
preparation of mouse eyes (16 to 17 week old animals) for histology.
paraffin, plastic, and frozen section techniques would be appreciated. any
suggestions on getting excellent sections that include the lens would be
extremely helpful. please include your preference of fixative, and
processing solvents and whether or not the eyes are trimmed before
processing (and if so do you use the AFIP method to insure the eyes are
turgid before trimming). please also include optimal water bath
temperatures and the type of paraffin you have found to be the best
suitable.

thanks,
