Lillie's Fixative

Stock solution"
200 ml. glacial acetic acid
800 ml. 95% alcolhol

Working solution:
1 part stock solution
3 parts 10% neutral buffered formalin

The breast tissue we fix in this is mammary tissue from rats and we
normally just leave it for 24  hours before processing on a 1 hour
schedule--- one hour in each bottle on the VIP.  Larger or thicker sections
may need longer fixation.
