RE: CAP checklist questions

From:"Nocito, Joseph" <joseph_nocito@srhc.iwhs.org>

Amy,
as I understand the questions, "Are processing temp monitored" This would
include the paraffin temp on your tissue processor and embedder. We also
monitor the temps when before we perform a HIER method, i.e, we check the
temp of our solutions that are in the steamer. We places our slides in a 95
degree solution. Our daily records include a QC sheet that has the date,
the tech who performed the immunos, the accession number, antibodies
performed, how the control worked (if it did), how the patient, the
pathologist's initials, and any comments - to include corrective actions,
i.e. "tissue floated off the slide, being repeated", "the positive control
was weak".
Hope this helps.
