Please help
We have a request for Frozen Section on a Hep C positive patient. The operation
is removal of parathyroid, therefore the tissue to be submitted would not be
greater than 1cc at a time. During these operations we receive between 4 and 6
consecutive sections.
To reduce the risk it was suggested that we use microwave fixation instead of
cutting it fresh.
The microwave we have is 800W. How long should I leave it in the microwave and
at what power level?
I need a protocol very urgently, all this will take place on Tuesday!
