JOB TITLE: Fishery Biologist ( 1 year Contractual)
JOB LOCATION: NOAA/NOS CCEHBR, 904 South Morris St., Oxford, Maryland 21654
SALARY: $26,998/ YR.( $12.98/hr)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists higher graded scientists performing research into
critical
problems of fisheries resource health. Incumbent will receive training in
specific laboratory
techniques necessary to process biological specimens in the field and in the
laboratory.
Incumbent will assist in investigations of long range and short term
problems and may contribute to scientific papers for publications. The
incumbent is expected to develop skills necessary to independently perform
routine and recurring assignments. A large portion of the incumbent's time
will be spent processing biological samples collected in the field for
histological examination. The ability to learn and perform histological
techniques, laboratory and chemical safety procedures is a necessity.
Incumbent will be required to assist in the collections of specimens at sea,
and will need to be capable of assisting in boat operation. Collection trips
may require incumbent to be at sea for several days a month.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BS degree in Biological Sciences.
