Hi,
I have had a research physician come to me and ask what the appropriate time
in formalin fixative is to kill viruses (HIV was used as an example) but
knowing that tissues infected with HIV often contain other viruses that may
be more resistant to fixation. I would like to know if there are any
articles addressing these issues so that I may develop a policy for our own
in-lab use also. I would also be interested in hearing from others who deal
with these issues more frequently. I appreciate any help that you may be
able to give me. Thanks in advance.
