Hi,
    The best answer to this question is to look at the spec sheets for each
respective antibody. This will tell you (hopefully) the ideal fixative,
recommended pretreatment, and incubation times. If this information is not
there, contact the manufacturer.
    As a rule we use formalin for immunoperoxidase, and Michelle's transfer
media (not a fixative) for immunofluorescence.
