I believe just simply washing the tissue in 70% to 90% alcohol for a few
hours will bring back much of the color.

For storage after:
                        Glycerin                 100 ml
                        Water                   1000ml
                        Potassium Acetate        170 g
                        Thymol                     4 g
                        Formalin (37-40%)          4 ml
