R. A. Lamb market a slide writer in the UK and I believe they have a North
American franchise as well. The slidewriter will produce a number of lines of
text which can be varied in size, and data may be inputted from the main lab
database (with a suitable interface). We have used such a slide writer for
several years, not only does it save time but it also eliminates a possible
source of error in as much as there is no possibility of putting a slide
label for patient "A" onto the slide for patient "B."
