At our facility, and at the private hospital here, we use a (Wright) Giemsa
stain to show H. pylori organisms. It sounds kind of strange, but the inline
stainer used by the staff in Hematology for their blood smears works great.
Of course we do run a control slide through with the patient slides to ensure
proper staining. Maybe you can get away from silver staining for H. pylori if
you incorporate a Giemsa type stain? Just a thought.
