Linda,
Fixation times for our cytology specimens in both 70% alcohol and Bouins
fixative can range from just a few short hours to over four days (long
holidays) and I don't know of any problems that this has created. The same
is true for tissue specimens fixed in Formol-Acetic Acid Alcohol. I have
no experience with long fixation times in 10% formalin.
