In response to Alan Bright's genuine concern the secondary bacterial filter
material used in the Cryo-Vac Away system is the product of a large, very
reputable company and they report that the filter will prevent passage of
virtually all of the common pathogens. Also it must be remembered that the
trimming debris is retained in the primary two- filter canister and the
secondary filter is present in the event that pathogens escape the primary
filters. However, even with the Cryo-Vac system in place caution and
vigilance must be observed at all times when handling  infectious material.
