I once ran into a guy from a state lab in SC who was processing reporductive
organs from fish and was using seawater in the fixative. They also used this
fixative for storage of their samples. They sometimes processed samples after
several years of storage in this seawater solution with no problems. Sounds
like a perfect excuse for a trip to the beach...or you could turn to the
recipe in Humason!
