We fix bone marrows in acetic zinc formalin for a minimum of four
hours, decalcify 15-30 minutes in a comercial HCl/EDTA decalcifier,
paraffin process on a four hour processor cycle. Slides are generally
ready by 8 am the next day. Results are generally reported the
afternoon of the day after biopsy assuming the biopsy was performed
before 3 pm or the results were requested to be "rushed" (if the biopsy
was performed after 3).
