I ran the test also.  Did you start a program and then restart it after
checking the date etc.?  I did  and then realized that the processor
remembered it was started on Dec. 31st.  So naturally it would believe that
the next day was Jan. 1st.  I aborted the program, changed the date back
and then started a different program and everything was fine.
Notice how I give human attributes to the equipment.  My limited
understanding of computer technology makes me think that it has to be
either magic or human.
