Marilyn,
Try Propar from Anatech. I started using Xylene substitutes back in 1984,
and eventually sensitized to a limonene based product, developing asthma,
not fun! I have used Propar since 1988 and have had only a few problems,
mostly moisture related and all easily solved ( Ada is always just a phone
call away ). I do coverslip with Permount, although Anatech does sell
companion product called Refrax. I switched to the permount after some
"bleeding Eosin" during our lovely humid summer months, and found it to be a
bit easier to use. An added plus is that it is easily recycled.
If you have any questions feel free to give me a shout.
