Histonians,
What is the latest information w/ regards to Histologists grossing, and
CLIA 88?
In our lab, Histologists gross all dermatology specimens, and some specific
surgical specimens (ECC, cxbx, prostate needle bxs, EAB's etc.). I understand
that at one point, CLIA said that the only people who could do this "high
complexity testing" were people w/ an A.S. Since then I've read that many of
us have been Grand mothered(fathered) in to continue the work we've been
doing.
What can my new-hires expect? Shall I tell them to "get thee to a college"?
Thanks
Bruce Gapinski HT(ASCP)
