In the past in my old lab we would see this off and on also. We found  
watching the heat of water baths helped and changing the deparaffining  xylenes 
seemed to help a lot with this. I am not sure what mechanism  causes this but we 
(tech's and pathologists) thought it had something to do with  heat.
