Re: Tissue processor

From:Jackie.O'Connor@abbott.com

I routinely need to delay tissues in 70% alcohol for up to 24 hours.  We strictly fix our tissues for 48 hours in Strecks Tissue fixative - which confounds weekend processing - since I don't have to work weekends. For example, if tissues are harvested on Thursday, I put them on the processor Friday by setting the 1st station for the remaining time in my 48 hour window, then they rinse in 50% for 45 minutes, and hold in 70% until about 1 am Sunday before coontinuing processing.  I hope that helps.

Good day Histonetters,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a tissue processor that will allow you to
start your program and then allow it to delay in the 2nd or 3rd station ?

Thanks !
