    The Epson 2450 flatbed scanner (about US$400) with the transparency unit will do a great job on film from 6x4.5 cm up. Might be good enough for 35 mm scans if a lot of enlargment is not needed. For really high resolution 35 mm scans there are plenty of good 35 mm film scanners, Polaroid Sprint Scan, Nikon, Minolta. I have found that a 2700 dpi scan from an older Polaroid Sprint Scan is more than adequate for 35 mm film.
