Hi Patti and other folks working with mice:
At the P1 time point I usually bisect the head, fix in 4% Paraformaldehyde for 3 hours.  No decal this early (I decal at P12 and up).  Section at 4-5 um in paffin.  Hope this helps.  Maureen @ East Carolina U.
