Brain Bubbles follow up

From:"Timothy R. Wheelock"

 Hi again everyone:

Thank you for your advice about not leaving the brain tissue in 70%
alcohol for extended periods.
Perhaps I should try not leaving the tissue sitting in the 30%
isopropanol delay mode, although I don't recall this being a problem in
the past.
Also, perhaps not stacking the cassettes would help.

Pam, the brain tissue is human.
The specimens, are .04 cm thick pieces, and taken from thoroughly
fixed (10% formalin) half brains, during gross examination.
The cassettes are stacked in the basket.
My schedule is:

30% isopropanol.......delay mode
50% isopropanol........1:30 hours
80% isopropanol........1:30 hours
95% isopropanol........1:30 hours
100% isopropanol......1:00 hours
100% isopropanol......1:00 hours
100% isopropanol......1:15 hours
Xylene........................1:00 hours
Xylene........................1:00 hours
Xylene........................1:15 hours
Paraplast.....................2:00 hours
Paraplast.....................3:00 hours

* Although I have an enclosed processor (a Shandon Hypercenter XP), I
leave the vacuum-pressure function off in order to avoid excessively
drying out the tissues.
