RE: cd15 (leu-m1)

Martha,

It's been awhile since I've used this antibody, but we had to use an anti-mouse IgM secondary for our BD CD15. You can probably add it as an option in one of your dispensers. I don't know how well it would work with Ventana's detection system, you can probably call them and ask, or just try it and see. Sometimes using the cocktails you can get from Biocare Medical helps get staining that is otherwise stubborn. They use a cocktail of clones DT07 and BC97. You can ask your pathologist if these clones are acceptable for you to try. We would also use CD30 (BerH2) in our Hodgkin's panel, as this would also stain RS cells.

My pathologist would like to investigate another cd15 antibody. We are not getting staining of Reed-Sternberg cells in Hodgkin's disease as he would expect. We are currently using a CD15 from Becton Dickinson on our Ventana NexEs. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance. I always get good information from this group!
